Early Morning Blaze in Camden. Early yesterday morning flames destroyed two frame dwellings situated at 1700 and 1702 Kossuth street, Camden. The fire was caused by a defective flue. The family of Thomas Biddle lived at 1702 Kossuth street. The other house was unoccupied and was owned by Captain Venable. No. 1702 was the property of William Drake. The loss amounts to about $1500 and is covered by insurance.

Three houses near the corner of Van Hook and Kossuth streets took fire before daybreak and all were burned to the ground. The conflagration destroyed the houses owned by John Ring, at Kossuth and Van Hook streets, Thomas Biddle's house, at 1702 Kossuth street, and the old wooden building at 1700 Kossuth street. The fire broke out in Ring's house and spread rapidly, owing to the dry condition of the buildings. The fire department was promptly on the scene, and prevented the flames from spreading further. The losses were estimated at from $1,500 to $2,000.
