Kossuth Street extends in a southern direction from 733 Van Hook Street, crossing Central Avenue, Ferry Avenue, Jefferson Avenue, and Chelton Avenue, and ultimately terminating at the railroad tracks. Originally, Kossuth Street concluded at Jefferson Avenue. However, it was extended in the early 1940s to accommodate the construction of the Chelton Terrace Public Housing project.
