JOHN MELFI SR. — John Melfi Sr., 74, 24 Ablett Village, died Sunday. Born in Italy, he was a Camden resident for 42 years. Until his retirement several years ago, he was a maintenance man for Evenson and Levering. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; two sons, Anthony and John Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Carroll, all of Camden, and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His son-in-law is Capt. Edward Carroll, of the Camden Police Department. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9.30 a. m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church. Relatives and friends will meet at 8.30 at the Frank J. Leonard Funeral Home, 1451 Broadway, where they may call Wednesday night. Burial will be in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
