[News brief — no formal headline] Camden's police were stirred at 3 o'clock yesterday morning when an excited voice over the telephone informed headquarters that a man had been murdered in an alley at Third and Chestnut streets. The Second district patrol crew with several officers were rushed to the scene by Assistant Chief Hyde, and while a search was made in that locality no such victim could be found. Residents in that section declared they had heard two shots and a man had been seen in an alley running off Third street near Chestnut. No one with a bullet wound sought treatment at the hospitals, and the incident remains a mystery.
