Pfc. Louis Bontkowski Rites Set Thursday

Requiem high Mass for Pfc. Louis Bontkowski, of 1191 Liberty street, will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Tenth and Mechanic streets. Relatives and friends will meet at 8.30 a.m. in the residence. Burial will be in the veterans plot of St. Joseph's cemetery, Chews Landing, with military honors by Laskowski-Wojtkowiak post 74, American Legion, and a firing squad from Ft. Dix.
Private Bontkowski, a native of Camden, died Sept. 21, 1944, in Hesse, Belgium. He was 24. He entered the service on May 5, 1942, went overseas in April, 1944 and served with Co. A, 25th Infantry Division. He was a graduate of Camden County Vocational school and Spring Garden Institute, Philadelphia.
Surviving are his parents, Theodosia and Joseph; a brother, Edward, and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Baliski.
