Pope Blesses Pair Here on Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Jan Pawelek, of 1256 Whitman ave., recently received a special certificate from Pope Pius XII, marking their golden wedding anniversary, which will be celebrated Sunday.
Invitations to friends and relatives have been sent out by the couple for a dinner at 12.30 p. m. in the parish house of St. Joseph's Church, 10th and Liberty sts., to follow 10 o'clock Mass.
Jan J. Pawelek and his bride, Catherine M., were married in 1907 in the new St. Casimir Church in Johnstown, Pa. Now 74 and 72 years old respectively, the couple plans a return visit to the church next week as part of their golden wedding anniversary.
Their four children are Stanley, Joseph, Angela and Theresa, with six grandchildren.
Pawelek has been employed since 1921 at MacAndrews & Forbes Co.
