South Camden Siftings

The Camden Horse Railroad Company has taken the summer cars from off the Broadway line and this morning began running on ten minute time. R. H. Comey this morning took out a permit for the construction of a frame building one story high, 37x50 feet, as an addition to the dye works on Jefferson street. On a charge of congregating about the corner at Eighth street and Kaighn avenue, William Cook and Charles Martin were given five days by Mayor eW[?]tcott this morning. A large white streamer bound around the edge with blue, and across the centre of which appears in red letters: "J. [?]. V. S. & Co.," now floats from the northwest corner of J. [?]. Van S[?][?]ver & Co.'s new annex. Life was made miserable for the deck hands on the ferryboat Suffolk County during the storm on Saturday by the passengers demanding umbrellas to keep the rain off of them as it came pouring through the cabin roofs.
