Two youths, 18 and 14, were arrested as suspects in the attempted burglary Tuesday night of a candy store on the southwest corner of Sixth and Royden streets.
Detective Capt. William Marter and Sgt. Vincent Conley arrested the boys on Broadway near Pine street shortly after an attempt was made to force the front door of the shop, operated by Robert G. Chambers.
Marter said the youths admitted they were frightened away. Marter also said the youths confessed robbing Schneider's Bakery, 1644 Broadway, on April 15 and taking $200, two $25 government bonds and two gold pieces.
The 14-year-old youth was sent to the county detention home to await action of juvenile authorities while the other, Benjamin F. Livingston, 1634 South Sixth street, was booked at headquarters on an attempted burglary charge.
