$1000 in Items and $100 in Cash Taken by Burglar During Night
Thieves entered the second-floor apartment of Mrs. Flora B. Scannell, a widow, at 29 North Third street, last night, and stole jewelry valued at $1000 and $100 in cash which she had hidden in a bureau drawer.
Mrs. Scannell discovered the robbery when she returned home early today. City Detectives Joseph Carpani and Sylvester McGrath were detailed to investigate. Among the stolen jewelry were two expensive diamond rings.
Entrance was gained by forcing a door to the apartment.
