Camden Policeman Alone Captures Alleged Store-breakers
At the point of a revolver, Policeman Andrews, in Camden early yesterday, placed under arrest Michael Egan, aged 36, of 702 New street, and his nephew, Thomas Egan, aged 21 years, of 732 New Street. They were later held in $500 bail by Recorder Stackhouse on a charge of breaking into the store of Benjamin Stout, of 1130 South Third street. The officer says the men had boxes of canned goods and when he told them to halt they at first refused. It was only after threatening to shoot them they surrendered. The police say the defendants admitted breaking into the store, although they said they were drunk and did not know what they were doing.
