Yuli Edelmeyer, Aged 4, Dies in Hospital — Blazing Piece of Paper Ignited Her Dress
From burns received when her dress caught fire while she was playing with her brothers at the open grate of a stove, Yuli Edelmeyer, aged 4, of 1222 North Eighteenth street, East Camden, died in Cooper Hospital yesterday. The child's body was burned so badly that hardly a spot of white flesh remained.
The girl, with her brothers, Philip, 6, and Honus, 5, had been left temporarily alone. They secured bits of paper and had lighted them by means of the hot coals. One of these burning pieces of paper fell on Yuli's dress and set it afire. The little brothers ran from the house in terror and their screams attracted the attention of Joseph Becker, an oil wagon driver, who rushed into the house, found Yuli a mass of flames and smothered the flames with his coat.
