Camden Courier-Post – May 16, 1964

C. Hobart Corson, 62, of 117 N. 23rd st., former president of the Ninth Ward Republican Club, was found dead yesterday on the second floor of the club’s headquarters on Broadway near Royden st.

William L. Gallagher, another member of the club, found the body. Coroner Creran said death was “apparently” due to natural causes but that an autopsy would be performed today.

Corson retired two years ago as head clerk in the Camden Fire Chief’s Office where he had been employed 12 years. He was also a former police court clerk. His father, the late W. Penn Corson, was a former Camden County sheriff.

A brother, Mahlon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., survives.
