Jury Action Set Today in Fraud Trial

The trial of a Camden attorney accused of embezzlement was expected to go to a jury today after a charge by County Judge Dzick.
Charles F. Murray, 37, whose office was in the 1300 block, Broadway, and who was indicted for embezzlement by bailee on complaint of the National Express Co., went on trial here Monday. The jury includes seven men and five women.
The state rested its case Tuesday after hearing testimony from Mrs. Bernice Brown, of 614 S. 3rd st., former secretary to Murray. Mrs. Brown testified her employer asked her to tell police her husband had stolen $858.50 from a filing cabinet in the lawyer's office.
A motion was made for dismissal but was denied by Judge Dzick.
Murray testified he took no part in the money order business for the express company. He said Mrs. Brown was to receive all commissions. He testified he had told the company representatives he would repay all the stolen money.
Assistant Prosecutor Asbell presented the case for the state. Murray is represented by Everett Jones.
