Stool Pigeons Ordered Brought Into Court
Three women defendants in illicit liquor cases were given a four-day respite when arraigned in police court yesterday.
Judge Garfield Pancoast ruled that police raided the three places at which the women were arrested must produce in court the stool pigeons who made the "buys," and continued the cases until Tuesday, August 14.
The defendants were Mrs. Lillie Ball, 1040 Segal street; Mrs. Louise Weber, 922 North Front street, and Mrs. Sarah Dowling, 7 Wood street. All were arrested after raids yesterday afternoon by Police Lieutenant Herbert Anderson, and all pleaded not guilty in court.
