Two Men Jailed in Theft Plot Try to Involve G.O.P. Club Aide Ninth Ward Employe Named by Prisoners in Scheme to Loot Building of Slot Machines; Judge Neutze Discounts Story An employee of the Ninth Ward Republican Club yesterday was accused of plotting to steal slot machines from the club at 536 Broadway by two South Camden men convicted of robbing him. Michael Maloni, 25, of 321 South Fourth street, and Dominick Vizzone, 24, of 316 South Fifth street, were sentenced to four months in the county jail when Judge Frank F. Neutze told them their story "doesn't ring true." Maloni and Vizzone were arrested on complaint of Jacob Mutzer, 417 Carteret street, employed at the club. He said he was coming out of a restaurant in South Camden early on the morning of June 17 when he met Maloni and Vizzone. "They induced me to get into their car and then they drove me to a field back of the Camden Forge Company," Mutzer testified. "There they took my money and keys, including keys to the club. I was afraid they might get into the club and clean it out so I notified police." Detectives went to the club house, but Maloni and Vizzone did not appear. They were arrested later. The defendants denied robbing Mutzer. "His story is not true," Maloni insisted. "He told us to take his keys and go to the club and take the slot machines from there while he waited for us. He said it would look like a hold-up. We refused to have anything to do with it." Mutzer cut in and said Maloni's testimony was untrue. Judge Neutze told Maloni and Vizzone he thought they were "looking for a way out," and imposed sentence.

Ninth Ward Employe Named by Prisoners in Scheme to Loot Building of Slot Machines; Judge Neutze Discounts Story

An employee of the Ninth Ward Republican Club yesterday was accused of plotting to steal slot machines from the club at 536 Broadway by two South Camden men convicted of robbing him.

Michael Maloni, 25, of 321 South Fourth street, and Dominick Vizzone, 24, of 316 South Fifth street, were sentenced to four months in the county jail when Judge Frank F. Neutze told them their story "doesn't ring true."

Maloni and Vizzone were arrested on complaint of Jacob Mutzer, 417 Carteret street, employed at the club.

I was afraid they might get into the club and clean it out so I notified police."

Detectives went to the club house, but Maloni and Vizzone did not appear. They were arrested later.

The defendants denied robbing Mutzer.

"His story is not true," Maloni insisted. "He told us to take his keys and go to the club and take the slot machines from there while he waited for us. He said it would look like a hold-up. We refused to have anything to do with it."

Mutzer cut in and said Maloni's testimony was untrue.

Judge Neutze told Maloni and Vizzone he thought they were "looking for a way out," and imposed sentence.
