Basil Cook - World War 2 - Draft Card

Basil Preston Cook was born in England. He entered the bar business during Prohibition and had several encounters with the law. By 1932, he was managing a bar at 939 South 5th Street.

By 1942, Basil Cook was working as a salesman for the Camden County Beverage Corporation, which owned and operated the Camden Beer brewery at South 6th and Bulson Streets.

While still employed by the brewery, Basil Cook took a leave of absence from his job. On February 15, 1958, he collapsed while shoveling snow outside his home at 307 North 2nd Street. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cooper Hospital.
