Auburn Street is a small street that stretches from Broadway to South Sixth Street, located between Benson and Washington Streets. It consists of 19 homes, numbered from 588 to 594.

These new homeowners advocated for proper city services, which caused tension with the Camden City Democratic Organization at the time. Unfortunately, they faced harassment and eventually displacement, as the City of Camden seized all properties on Auburn Street through eminent domain.
