Platoon Sergeant Frank Aloysius Duffy (d. 1944) of 225 North 10th Street, Camden, served with the 4th Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps. He landed on Roi Island in the Marshall Islands and was killed in action on July 2, 1944, earning the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He is memorialized at the Honolulu Memorial in Hawaii.
Eleventh Street ran north from Market Street through to Pearl Street. Over time, North 11th Street was erased block by block, until only a short segment between Penn and Linden Streets survives. South 11th Street is a connecting road with no residential addresses.
Bulson Street runs east from Broadway to South 11th Street alongside the railroad tracks, named after 19th-century farmer Gilbert Bulson. At one time the tracks were at street level; in modern times the overpass has been known as "the hump."

Ninth Street is one of Camden's longest north–south thoroughfares, running from the Delaware River waterfront in North Camden, through the city's central corridor, and far south through Cramer Hill and Whitman Park. Block numbering begins at Federal Street.

WILLIAM C. AITKEN was born around 1846. He first came to America in 1869. He moved to Camden in the early 1880s. He was active as a builder in the latter part of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
