2 Men Given 6 Months on Theft Counts City Court Scene Municipal Judge Marino gave six-month jail sentences Tuesday to two defendants, one charged with theft of an automobile battery and the other with stealing $5 worth of gasoline. Robert Adams, 32, of the 1100 block Kaighns ave., drew the sentence for the gasoline theft. Additionally, he was held for the grand jury on a charge of possession of a stolen car. Sgt. Earl Wright said Adams was arrested early Tuesday taking the gas from a car parked at the Camden Brewery's Filmore st. parking lot. William Mattocks, 45, of the 600 block Sycamore st., was jailed for the battery theft. Arthur Carstarphen, 637 Cherry st., complained Mattocks took the battery Dec. 2 from a truck owned by Carstarphen. Mattocks said he sold the battery. Marino held Henry Foreman, 33, of Ferry ave. near 8th st., for the grand jury on a breaking and entering and attempted larceny charge. Police said Foreman was arrested early Tuesday hiding behind boxes in a supermarket at 5th and Benson sts. Glass in a front door had been broken, police said. John Ogelsby, 46, of Washington st. near 5th, pleaded not guilty to possession of untaxed alcohol and was released in his own recognizance pending grand jury action. A state ABC agent said the liquor was found Dec. 6 in Ogelsby's house.
