Rev. Dr. Wayland Hoyt, of Philadelphia, preached at the First Baptist Church yesterday in the absence of Rev. John Lyell, who is on his way to the Orient with a Baptist Mission.

Special Lenten services will be held this week at St. Stephen's P. E. Church. Wednesday night Rev. Nelson Kellogg, of Philadelphia, will preach.

An "Irish Patty" will be given by the Young Women's Christian Association next Saturday night.

The annual session of the A. M. E. Conference will be held in the Ferry Avenue Church next Wednesday, continuing for several days.

Police Captain Stanley and a squad of officers raided the alleged "speak-easy" kept by James La Moeno, at 812 South Third street, yesterday. Beside La Moeno four other men were arrested. A large quantity of beer, wine and whiskey was confiscated.

During the heavy snow storm which struck Camden yesterday a drilling engine ran off the track near Twelfth and Federal streets. Traffic was delayed but a short time. The accident was caused by the snow becoming packed in a switch.
