Pfc. William Groome Funeral Tomorrow
Services for Pfc. William Groome will be held tomorrow at 1.45 p. m. in National cemetery, Beverly. Military rites will be conducted by a squad from Ft. Dix.
Private Groome was killed in action May 12, 1944, at Anzio, Italy, at the age of 26. He was a member of Co. K, 351st Infantry, 88th Division. He entered the army in 1943 and had been overseas five months when he was killed.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Clayton for 12 years and attended Clayton High school. He also resided in Camden for six years at 119 North Twenty-third street and was employed at the New York Shipyard.
Surviving are two brothers, Andrew and Samuel, both of Camden, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha McDowell, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Parker Patterson, St. Petersburg, Fla.
