Two Men Badly Burned
Two men were badly burned yesterday afternoon while working in the power house of the Pennsylvania Railroad, at Washington avenue and Delaware avenue, Philadelphia.
Thomas Armitage, of 1171 Lemon street, Camden, and Kelly Parker, of 2218 Palethorp street, Philadelphia, were burned about the face and hands when a transformer exploded. They were taken to the Jefferson Hospital, where their injuries were pronounced not critical.
Thomas Armitage, 32 years old, of 1171 Lemon street, and Kelly Parker, 36 years old, of 526 South Third street, were taken to the Cooper Hospital yesterday suffering from burns of the eyes, hands and face. They are employed at the power house at the Pennsylvania Railroad terminal, at the foot of Federal street, as electricians. Their injuries were received when a wire became short-circuited.
