Louis Street runs between Haddon Avenue and Mount Ephraim Avenue, from Mount Vernon Street south to Sheridan Street. Primarily residential with many corner businesses, it passes Whitman Park and was devastated by the crack epidemic of the 1980s.
Anthony Joseph Bibinski of Camden served as a Private First Class in the 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He took part in the invasions of Anzio and Southern France and was killed in action on November 20, 1944.
Arthur Cuellen Batten (1904–1972), known to his fellow firefighters as Artie, joined the Camden Fire Department on March 4, 1927 and served until his retirement on February 28, 1969, rising to captain of Rescue Company 1 and acting battalion chief.
