Alder Street, once a narrow thoroughfare situated between South 10th and Mount Ephraim Avenue extended from a point just north of Chestnut Street to Sycamore Street, to the west of the railroad tracks. Notably, it was home to two prominent families, the Tunsil family and the Waples family, both deeply entrenched in Camden’s funeral director community.
