Billiard Room Owner Held in Gaming Raid

BILLIARD ROOM OWNER HELD IN GAMING RAID The bits of ivory that flashed across the pool tables of Frank Manfredi, proprietor of a billiard parlor at 1146 South Third street, were square instead of round, Police Judge Gene Mariano decided yesterday in fining Manfredi $100 for operation of a gaming house. Manfredi, a former Camden prizefighter known as Freddie Mack, was arrested Saturday night with eight customers after Detectives Vernon Jones and George Weber claimed that a dice game was in progress when they staged a raid. The customers, each of whom paid $5 for gaming, gave the names of Felix Guiotti, 21, of 271 Chestnut street; Manual Lalrajo, 23, of 265 Mt. Vernon; John Bianchi, 27, of 1147 Emma; Bert DiMattao, 23, of 284 Mt. Vernon; Leroy Smith, 22, of 149 Boyer Court; William DiBatista, 23, of 943 Newton; James Abbott, 21, of 815 Haddon avenue; and Anthony Manfredi, 35, of Gloucester.
