John C. Voll Jr. (1900-1979) was born in Camden and served the Camden Fire Department for 40 years, entering the department on January 15, 1925 and retiring on December 1, 1965. He lived his later years at 2737 Garfield Avenue in the Cramer Hill section of Camden.
Joseph Xavier Voll (1925–1945) of Camden, NJ served as a Fireman First Class in the United States Navy and was one of the original crew of the USS Caswell (AKA-72). He was killed in an accident at Riverton, New Jersey on January 12, 1945, less than a week short of his 20th birthday, and is buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, NJ.
William E. "Pud" Jaeckel (1888–1961) joined the Camden Fire Department in 1920 and served over thirty years with Engine Company 9 at North 27th and Federal Streets in East Camden, retiring on pension in January 1951.

He had lived at 1140 North 24th Street in Camden and is buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, New Jersey.
Charles H. Truitt (1859-1936) was a Camden native who worked 53 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a tugboat fireman and ferry engineer on the Delaware River before retiring in 1929.
Harry E. Harker of Blackwood, NJ served as a Private in Company C, 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division. He was killed April 20, 1944 during the defense of the Anzio beachhead in Italy and is buried at Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, NJ.
Allen Palmer was born on April 20, 1891, in the Ellisburg section of Delaware Township (present-day Cherry Hill), New Jersey, to John and Ida Palmer. By 1900, the family had moved to 26 North 21st Street in East Camden.
