The Origin of St. Joseph's Parish—Continued

After World War 1 [sic] a building boom started in East Camden. The congregation of Saint Joseph's parish grew rapidly, and it became necessary to seek a new site for a Church and School.

Father Shuvlin was directed to take the site formerly occupied by Saint Patrick's cemetery. He purchased this ground for $55,000.00. Those who had been buried there were removed principally to Calvary cemetery. Plans for a fine school building were drawn up by Mr. H. G.
