Wagner Court

Wagner Court, sometimes called Wagner's Court, was a small alley in Camden that ran west from 713 South 4th Street, between Pine Street and Line Street and ended in a dead end. While the alley itself is not labeled on Sanborn maps, a wooden house appears on the 1885 and 1891 editions.

The alley first shows up in Camden City Directories in 1896, though no residents connected to the name "Wagner" are listed. By 1906, the Sanborn map shows the original frame house divided into two dwellings. City directories list people living there from 1913 through 1929. However, by the 1930 Census, those residents had moved elsewhere, and the 1931 City Directory marked the houses as vacant.

Wagner Court still appears in the 1940 City Directory, but no houses are listed. It's possible the buildings had burned down or collapsed by then. The city officially took over the land where the houses once stood in December 1978.

Today, the alleyway between 713 and 715 South 4th Street remains, but all other signs of Wagner Court have disappeared.
