Jane Street
Jane Street, occasionally known as Jayne Street, was a small street running south for one block from 1062 Line Street to Pine Street. Located just east of Haddon Avenue, it was a notable part of the city's layout in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
According to the 1890–1891 Camden City Directory, Jane Street was already established, and homes were still listed there as late as 1947. By the 1960s, urban development reshaped this part of Camden: Jane Street, along with Line Street east of St. Mihiel Street, Perry Street, and Ringold Street, was demolished to make way for parking for the Campbell Soup Company's corporate headquarters.
This transformation reflects broader trends in urban planning and industrial expansion during the mid-20th century, which often razed older residential areas to accommodate growing commercial and corporate needs.
