East Camden Club Plans Summer Events Three social events have gone down on the Summer calendar of East Camden clubwomen. They include a rose tea party, an outing to Ocean City and a pilgrimage to historical points of interest in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Plans for the three affairs were made at the closing meeting of the club held on Monday evening at the clubhouse, 33 North Thirtieth street. The tea party will be held on June 22 at the home of Mrs. Anna Scott, 26 Leonard avenue. It will start at two o'clock. The outing has been scheduled for July 13, and will be held at the Summer residence of Miss Dorothy Morris. No date has been set for the pilgrimage as yet, but will be announced in the near future by the chairman of literature, Mrs. Theodore Warner. The executive board of the club was in charge of the program presented following Monday evening's meeting. Mrs. Robert Pinner, president of the club, presided and gave a brief history of the organization which was started on April 25, 1921. Stereopticon views of historical spots in the city, state and county were shown by Miss Julia Asay. Mrs. Pinner discussed the pictures as they were shown. Mrs. Charles Johnson was hostess chairman for the evening.

Mrs. Jennie Murren of Camden, N.J. will receive a $5,000 check from the Penn Fruit Co. Saturday night on TV's "It's Racing Time." She won the money last Saturday night when she was called by show-host Paul Norton during The Giant Jackpot portion of the Racing Time Show. She answered her telephone with the winning phrase, "I Play Racing Time." Mrs. Murren, a widow, said that she plans to use the money to fix up her house.

Courier-Post Bureau TRENTON — The high rate of failures on police and fire examinations was repeated yesterday in the Civil Service Department's announcement of the results of tests for fire captain and patrolman in Camden City. In the captain's test, 23 passed, 64 failed and two did not show up for the test. In the test for patrolman, 10 passed, 32 failed and 14 failed to show. In the non-residents' test for Camden patrolman, six passed, eight failed and five did not appear. In the fire captain's test, Kenneth M. Clark of 111 North 26th St., Camden, a veteran, qualified with a score of 92.6, highest for the seven veterans who qualified. Joseph R. Gfrorer of 3040 N. Constitution Road, Camden, was highest of applicants with a score of 96.5. In the residents' patrolman test, Robert D. Craig of 817 Vine Street was high with 78. In the non resident's test, Edwin B. Hoffman of 514 Walnut Street, Audubon, a veteran qualified with 72.2 and Flem J. Hopkins Jr. of 113 Estates Ave., Pine Hill, was high with 78.
