Twenty-Ninth Street runs from the Delaware River south, across River Road to the Pavonia railroad switching yards. It starts again at Pleasant Street and goes to Westfield Avenue. It picks up again at Federal Street and runs south to Clinton Street. As in all numbered streets in Camden, it is North 29th Street above Federal, and South 29th below.

William Stanley Ablett Village

William Stanley Ablett Village is a 306-unit public housing project at River Road and State Street in the Cramer Hill section of Camden, built by the Housing Authority of the City of Camden during World War II and named for a Camden soldier killed in action in France during World War I.

William Gooch, an East Camden athlete of 67 South 29th Street, was severely wounded in France. One of eight orphan children, he enlisted in the heavy field artillery in December and trained at Camp Greene, N.C., before deploying with Frank Carver.

St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, the first Catholic parish in East Camden, was founded in 1893 at 25th and Howell Street and celebrated its Golden Anniversary in 1943. A new church built in 1952 at 2907 Federal Street became St. Joseph's Pro-Cathedral.
